Good News, Everyone!

Yes, good news indeed!

I’ve received another acceptance for a short piece!

It’s an anthology of zombie flash fiction:

It’s going to be published by Hazardous Press.

I’ll be sure to let you know when it’s out.  Should be a riveting collection of all things zombie related.

My piece is called “Coping Mechanisms” and features a Projectionist named Rose, and some settings familiar to my fellow Vancouverites.

I’m actually getting royalties!  Ooooh, aaaaah!  I’m excited.  It will be out in print and ebook formats.

In the mean time, got to keep writing!  Sure feels good to get an acceptance; really bolsters my spirits.

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for reading, following, commenting, and linking: your support is really helping me get my career off the ground.  I hope to string you along on a lifetime of exciting work!

I Guess Coffee isn’t the *Worst* Vice…

I’ve had a streak of unproductive, uninspired, generally depressing weeks. My writing is in a slump. Putting words down is like a slog through quicksand.

And then I made myself a bunch of coffee… I was drinking decaf for health reasons. …And I had no idea how much I really relied on coffee to get my but in gear and WRITE.

I suppose it’s not the worse vice to rely on for that elusive inspiration. My stupid Prechordial Catch Syndrome will likely make me have to ration my new method of kick-it-into-gear, but hey, now when I want a nice cup of delicious coffee, I’ve got to earn it by writing.

So cram it, heart, we’ve got work to do.

Excited for a beautiful anthology called “Fish”

Dagan is putting together a lovely looking anthology called “Fish”.

“Show us something beautiful,” they say.  Well, I loved my 7-7-7 flash-fiction format (which landed me in “Once Bitten, Never Die”) so much that I did a fish piece in that style for them.

There are seven species of Pacific Salmon, and each gets seven lines of seven words in my latest work, Seven Salmon.

I hope they like it.

Either way, this anthology seems like it will be a wonderful read!

Dagan Books’ announcement; submissions close on August 31!
I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks for reading.
